The Mace is a one-handed melee weapon with very high damage yet short range. It is the only one-handed weapon capable of killing a heavily armored enemy in two hits.

Overview[ | ]

The Mace has incredibly high damage for a one-handed weapon, offset by low speed and stabs. Because of this, it can be surprisingly deadly to unsuspecting opponents.

Alt mode: Throws the weapon.

Strengths[ | ]

Historical References[ | ]

The mace was essentially a metal-headed club, with early examples having wooden handles topped with iron, copper or bronze heads. The morningstar or morgenstern - popular in Germany and Italy - had a spherical steel head covered with metal spikes. This made it an effective blunt force weapon against armor, but the spikes could break off easily. Another common design was the flanged mace. This had a head of radially symmetrical metal protrusions, which helped concentrate force into skull-splitting wedges.

Notes and Trivia[ | ]

The protector default class carries the mace as a melee weapon.
