Cutout-rack

Weapons are a core element of Mordhau, due to its emphasis on skill-based combat. Players can wield a variety of weapons, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Up to 3 weapons can be carried at any given time, or 6 in Horde mode, and the player is allowed to have multiple copies of a weapon if they wish. Many weapons also have an alternative mode, which could range anywhere from changing your grip on the weapon for different properties to throwing it as a ranged attack.

The weapons each do different amounts of damage depending on which part of the opponent's body is hit, and how well-armored that body part is. Damage is shown for each region of the body, with the first number being for an unarmored body part, the second number for lightly armored ones, third for medium armor, and fourth for heavy armor.

Shields

Shields are split into 2 categories - held block and parry. Held block shields (round shield, kite shield, and heater shield) can be raised and held in front of the player by holding the R key. Parry shields (buckler and targe) have the properties of a normal parry while having a set parry stamina drain negation. The purpose of parry shields is to make 1 handed weapons viable in terms of stamina against 2 handed weapons.  

While a shield is on your character's body - in hand or strapped to the back - it is able to passively block some projectiles that may hit the shield, primarily arrows and crossbow bolts. Additionally, holding down the Alt Weapon Mode button with certain shields will allow you to enter Shield Wall Mode, holding the shield up and automatically blocking all incoming attacks that hit the shield for even less stamina than usual - however, this comes with a few drawbacks. It takes a few seconds to initiate this mode, your camera turning is heavily restricted and stamina regeneration is prevented while in this mode, and performing any attacks will cancel the shield wall in the process.

1 100 Lute - Allows the user to play a few musical notes while held. This provides no real benefit, but the alt mode turns the lute into a blunt weapon.
2 500 Pavise Shield 1 Deploys a portable wall that is roughly chest-high. Can also passively block projectiles while worn or held like other shields, but otherwise does not function as an actual shield.
2 500 Smoke Bomb 1 Throw to create a large cloud of smoke for about 12 seconds around the point of impact, obscuring vision. Can extinguish any burning ground that it is directly thrown at, and any burning players who enter the cloud will instantly be extinguished. Dropped if player is hit with a melee attack while holding.
4 500 Bear Trap 1 Deploys a trap on the floor, which knocks down and significantly damages the first person who steps on it. Players who are crouching can walk across it safely. Damage dealt is based on the victim's leg armor: 100 vs unarmored or light leggings, 50 vs medium leggings or 30 vs heavy leggings. This damage is halved for the person who placed it and all allies. Against horses, it deals around 30 damage. Dropped if player is hit with a melee attack while holding.
6 300 Fire Bomb 1 Throw to ignite a section of ground for about 10 seconds, constantly damaging anything in the area. The damage rapidly increases the longer a player remains in the area, but teammates take half as much damage, even without the Friendly perk. Do keep in mind that there is a short delay between the firebomb landing and the ignited area beginning to deal damage. Dropped if player is hit with a melee attack while holding. Only one firebomb may be equipped per loadout.
6 ? Christmas Ornament 1 A remodel of the Fire Bomb, with a different name and skin. It is available to use during the Christmas season.
6 300 Medic Bag 1 Tosses a bag of medical supplies. Players can interact with it to recover all of their health. Takes about 1 second to use, and can be used 4 times in total. Automatically disappears if left on the ground for 2 minutes. Dropped if player is hit with a melee attack while holding.
6 ? Medic Bag Christmas 1 A remodel of the Medic Bag, with a different name and skin. It is available to use during the Christmas season.
24 500 Toolbox 12 Allows you to create the following structures, each using a different amount of ammo:

A waist-high wooden wall (1 ammo),

A barricade of stakes, which can impale anyone moving into them too quickly (2 ammo),

A brazier to ignite arrows and ballista shots (but not crossbow bolts) (6 ammo),

A small ballista that automatically resupplies itself with bolts (12 ammo).


Each of these structures automatically build on their own after their initial placement, and persist until destroyed. However, there is a limit to the number of structures you can have at once; At most, you can have 1 mini ballista, 2 braziers, and up to 6 of any combination of walls and stakes.

Large rock Piles located around various maps Can be thrown for heavy damage, but has a long windup before throwing, and the projectile itself has a sluggish 1150 projectile speed and a hefty 2.0 gravity scale. The damage dealt varies heavily depending on how fast it is going and how far it has traveled, and dealing significant damage if thrown from a decent height, regardless of the victim's armor. Additionally, a small explosion is created wherever the rock lands, dealing additional damage with a chance to knock down unlucky opponents in the process. Does not occupy a weapon slot when picked up. Dropped if hit by a melee attack while held.
Corseca (Prototype) Unobtainable A presumably one-handed spear with three points, which hasn't been fully implemented into the game yet. Currently, its stats are nearly identical to the Short Spear.

Notes

  • Although the Sledgehammer has an alt mode listed when viewed ingame, its reach is displayed as 0cm, and this alt mode cannot be accessed ingame.
  • The longsword's ability to unscrew and throw its pommel is a reference to the End Them Rightly meme, popularized by the YouTuber Skallagrim. Landing a killing blow with this pommel throw will also grant an achievement of the same name, though this is difficult to pull off due to its long windup, minimal damage, and the fact that it can only be performed once per longsword.
